Hazmat Spill Cleanup

This emergency project is to clean up a hazardous waste spill that occurred after a truck hauling the material caught fire. The material was a high-pH corrosive that released onto the pavement and in adjacent swales on the shoulder. The material was not toxic and did not move through the soil profile. Contaminated soil was removed and disposed of, swales were rebuilt, and pavement was repaired. The purpose of the project was clean up the hazardous waste spill and repair the road.
