2026 High Priority Flood Risk Reduction Projects (Project)

The Project will trim and remove vegetation to reduce flood risk in two high-priority locations in the City of San Mateo, San Mateo County. In both of the concrete-lined 16th Avenue and 19th Avenue channels, overgrown vegetation such as cattails, brass buttons, and bitter dock has reduced the conveyance capacity of the channels, leading to flooding of adjacent streets and building during high flow events.
