Description

Department of Water Resources DWR and Contractor will apply copper sulfate via helicopter at Pyramid Lake to control a lake-wide planktonic blue-green algae bloom that poses a risk to the public. The helicopter work will last approximately six hours and cover 558 acres. The helicopter will operate 100 feet from the shoreline and 20-30 feet above the water to apply roughly 18,000 pounds of copper sulfate to the main body of water. Staging and work is within DWR right of way.
