Dockweiler Least Tern Fence Project

Dockweiler SB is host to a federally endangered California least tern colony. In the mid 1980’s, a portion of the beach northwest of Ballona Creek was enclosed to prevent human activity and ground based predators from disturbing the colony. In 2006 the enclosed area was expanded to its current footprint and a new fence was installed. The fencing material is in an advanced state of deterioration.
