Description
Truckee Fire will work with volunteers as part of the annual Truckee River day to hand thin small diameter lodgepole pine trees less than 10" DBH that are growing at an unhealthy and hazardous density near a primary evacuation route SR 89 south. Project area is less than 0.3 acres. Non-ground disturbing methods will be used including hand thinning with chainsaws and hand carrying and piling for material disposal.
