Zoning Text Amendments for Accessory Dwelling Units, Public Hearing Notices, and Housing Element Program H-4.I.

On October 6, 2026, the Walnut Creek City Council adopted Ordinance 2258 amending Title 10 Planning and Zoning of the Walnut Creek Municipal Code to maintain consistency with State law and improve clarity of regulations regarding Accessory Dwelling Units and Public Hearing Notices. The project also implements Housing Element Program H-4.I. by removing planned development permits in the High Density Residential Planned Development District M-H-D and the Mixed Use Planned Development District M-U.
