WildNest 2026-2027 Forest Improvement Project

The purpose of this project is to create a shaded fuel break of approximately 50 feet on either side of a ridgeline road with moderate slopes 20-40 degrees and generally west- and east-facing aspects. Vegetation is primarily a mixed Douglas-fir and oak hardwood forest. High density of firs and bay laurels in the 4-8” DBH size class compete with mid-sized coast live and Oregon white oaks.
