North Bay Forest Improvement Program

The project covers 19 acres and proposes to cut small trees and brush, prune branches, and treat resulting woody materials with mastication. Large standing dead trees will be felled and limbed across approximately 7 acres of the project area. The environmental setting is a conifer mixed hardwood forest dominated by Douglas-fir with a dense understory of resprouting hardwoods including California bay laurel and oaks and resprouting shrubs.
